My amazing summer with Strange Case Collective

During the summer holidays I was lucky enough to be able to spend the majority of it with the amazingly talented 3D design company Strange Case Collective. They allowed me to help out on a wide variety of different projects they were working on.

Edge Hill

Going to Edge Hill with Sophie and Laura (strange case collectives company directors) was great, I loved being part of a energetic vibrant team. Strange Case provided the handmade photo backdrop, props and photographer. The atmosphere was buzzing with excited graduates and SCC provided a great alternative, fun photo to graduates.

Brink children's workshops

SCC were hired by Brink Liverpool to provide for three workshops during the summer holidays which I was able to help out with. The various crafts workshops had different themes, the first puppet making and performing, the second teddy bears picnic were the children could bring their favourite teddy and colour in a large mural, as well as having a picnic and the third a pirate party were the children helped colour in a large pirate and mermaid SCC provided.

Wedding video viewed at Woolton Picture house

Strange Case Collective are friends with an amazing film company named Papertwin, both worked on Karen & Lees wedding together, Strange Case Collective handmade the decorations and Papertwin filmed it. I was able to help out with the viewing of the film which was shown to the bride and groom (as a surprise) as well as friends and family, at Woolton cinema house, by setting up handmade paper flowers and decorations throughout the inside and outside of the cinema. SCC also has a graphic design that made personalized posters of the bride, groom and the parents which were really inspirational. Karen & Lee originally thought they were going for breakfast with Strange Cases company director Sophie and Papertwin director Dan when really they surprised them when their taxi pulled up outside the picture house, set up beautifully, all of their family and friends awaiting them, all of which were in on the surprise ready to watch the wedding video in style. It was amazing to be a part of!

Below is a quote from Papertwin from the day of the viewing:
'Today, we surprised our first wedding couple Karen and Lee with something we had planned for over a year. It was possibly one of the best and happiest days of our lives. We had promised to hand deliver their wedding film this morning over breakfast. Little did they know that their friends, families and loved ones were waiting in the quaint and beautiful Woolton Picture House just around the corner.

This was the moment they saw their loved ones waiting on the stairs outside the venue.

We have so, so much more to say and so many more people to thank, and we will. But for now, all I will say is that no two people deserve this more.

To Claire Penn Photography, the amazing Strange Case Collective , Laura's Little Bakery and Karen's best friend Phil- Thank you so much.

Good lord are we looking forward to this blog.

xx

My work experience with strange case is never over! 'This Summer we have had the very wonderful Nicola assisting us on a wide range of projects. In September she will be heading back to Hope University to finish her 3rd year studying design and we know she is going to smash it. Nicola is one of the most hard working, passionate and creative people we have ever worked with and we will definitely be working with her again. We just wanted to say a massive thank you and here is to future projects.'
